Snowy Saturday

Summary

Friday will be partly cloudy, warm, and dry. Saturday will bring cooler temperatures and a few inches of snow. Then Sunday and Monday will be dry and mostly sunny.

Update

Thursday was mostly sunny with a high temperature in the 20s to low 30s.

On Thursday night into Friday morning, some clouds are showing themselves in the sky, which you can see as we look at the mountain around sunrise on Friday.

Friday will be partly cloudy with a high temperature in the 30s.

From Saturday around sunrise to Saturday around sunset, a storm will clip the northern mountains of Colorado and we should see some snow. I'll stick with a forecast for 1-4 inches of accumulation. We'll be on the lower side if a few cells miss us, and we'll be on the higher side if we get some of the more intense showers. The storm's wind direction is not an ideal setup for Winter Park, but we'll take what we can get. The new snow could soften conditions a little bit on Saturday, and it's also fun to ride in at least a little bit of fresh powder.

Sunday and Monday will be dry and sunny with temperatures staying in the 20s on Sunday and then jumping into the 30s on Monday.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, we might see snow. A storm will split as it moves into Colorado, which is not a great setup for a lot of snow, but there should be enough energy and moisture to bring us at least some flakes. I am keeping my expectations low (just a few inches of snow accumulation) but maybe we'll get lucky and see more than this. If you are traveling leading up to Thanksgiving, keep this storm in mind as higher mountain passes could be snowy with slower travel later Tuesday and Wednesday.

Thanks for reading and please check back each morning for daily updates!
