Snow Wednesday and maybe Friday
Summary
Monday and Tuesday will be dry, then a strong cold front will bring snow starting on Wednesday morning.
Update
Sunday was a sunny day and temperatures stayed cold enough for snowmaking to continue all day.
Monday and Tuesday will bring similar conditions to Sunday with dry weather and daytime high temperatures rising into the 30s.
On Tuesday night, most of the time will be dry, but the wind will become gusty and we should see snow begin around sunrise.
On Wednesday, a cold front will arrive between 6 am – 8 am. You'll know that the cold front has arrived because temperatures will quickly drop by 10-20°F and we'll see a period of intense snow with a couple of inches quickly accumulating during the morning. The snow report taken at 5 am will likely show no new snow but there should be new snow by the time the lifts open and throughout mid-morning. During the day on Wednesday, a decent (not great) wind direction from the west should keep snow showers going and we'll likely wind up the day with 2-4 inches of snow and maybe a bit more if we're lucky.
Thursday should be mostly dry with chilly temperatures in the teens and 20s.
On Thursday night and Friday, I have low confidence in the forecast. We might see a weak storm bring at least a few inches of snow, or the storm could fall apart and we'll get little or no snow. Friday could be a sneaky soft day if the storm comes through, but again, I have low confidence in the forecast.
The next chance for light snow will be around Sunday, December 19 to Monday, December 20. After that, we'll probably see dry weather during most of the week leading up to Christmas, and then odds are increasing that we'll see a significant storm sometime around Christmas (December 24-27).
Thanks for reading and please check back each morning for daily updates!

PS – This week, we are going to make some significant changes to OpenSnow. If you're an All-Access subscriber (thank you!), you'll see no changes. If you are not an All-Access subscriber, here is an FAQ with more details about the upcoming changes, and we hope that eventually, we'll earn your support. On our website, you'll likely see these changes at some point today (Monday, December 13) and on our mobile apps, these changes will likely go live later this week.
Here is a 3-minute video that I made (with my son Levi) to introduce a few of the upcoming changes. Please watch the video to at least see what Levi has to say to everyone at the end (non of this was scripted/rehearsed and I'm surprised it worked out!).
