Sunny weekend, some snow early next week

Summary

Following Friday's snowfall, we'll see sunny weather on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, then some snowflakes may return on Tuesday.

Update

Friday delivered 1 inch of snow just before dawn, and also, snow showers occurred during the day and added 2 inches to our snowpack.

Now on Saturday morning, there are some low clouds hanging around, but just above that, skies are mostly clear.

The forecast for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday is easy – dry weather, sunny skies, light winds, and comfortable temperatures with daytime highs in the 20s.

On Monday night and Tuesday, a moderately-strong storm with little moisture will move over Colorado and we could see anything from a few flakes to a few inches of snow (I think we'll see more than 'a few flakes'). I have low expectations for this system, but maybe we can squeak out softer turns on Tuesday.

The rest of next week should be dry, though there is a low probability for a few more flakes to fall from the sky on Wednesday night into Thursday.

Looking farther ahead, the weekend of January 29-30 will be the start of a shift toward a stormier weather pattern across the western United States. There is about a 50/50 chance that we could see some snow during that weekend, and then during the first 4-5 days of February, there is a much higher chance that we will see a 'real' storm with significant snowfall.

Thanks for reading and please check back each morning for daily updates!
