First Day Freshies!

Summary

A shortwave weather system stalled over SW Montana yesterday dropping 4-6" on the resort for opening day!!

Update

Welcome back snow riders it’s going to be a Turkey Day to remember! The mountain is reporting 4” new at the Andesite Mountain snow stake and 6” new at the Headwaters “snowmomitor”. It’s not super deep but it is “cold smoke” as it came down cold and light yesterday. The 7AM temp in the Village is currently 8 above under mostly cloudy skies. For today, expect mostly cloudy skies this morning giving way to a few sunny spells by mid to late morning with afternoon high temps (at 8500’) around 15-20 above. Expect light to moderate west winds of 10-15mph with ridge-top gusts up to 20mph.

High-pressure builds in strong for Friday with mostly sunny skies along with daytime high temps at 8500’ of 25-30 and light southwest winds. A mix of sun and clouds along with increasing SW winds (gusty at times on ridge tops to 25mph) will be in store for Saturday. Alpine winds look to calm a bit on Sunday with yet another sunny day. High temps at 8000’ over the weekend look to stay in the mid to upper 20’s.

Dry and sunny skies with a few stray clouds will dominate next week’s weather pattern unfortunately. High temps will also be rising to above freezing at most locations below 8000’ by early next week.

Wear your mask, be respectable of others and rip it up!!!

 Powder Out –
