Snow Returns to the Forecast
Summary
A weak cold front will bring snow showers Monday evening and overnight to Big Sky with 1-3" possible by first chair on Tuesday morning
Update
Today:
At 7AM it’s 9 above in the Village and a whopping 25 above at the top of Andesite Mountain (8800’) – indicative of an air inversion. Observed skies are partly cloudy. For today expect some sunny spells in the morning with clouds increasing through the day for generally a mostly cloudy afternoon with chances of snow showers (40%) developing before last chair. High temps (at 8500’) will range from 28 to 30 above. Winds will be moderate out of the South/SW at around 20mph with gusts up to 30mph.
Tonight:
Snow showers will continue with the heaviest snow showers in the 5pm – 9pm period with 1-2” possible. Another inch is possible during the overnight hours with low temps in the low to mid-teens.
Tomorrow:
Your best bet in the next week to enjoy fresh snow. Snow showers will linger early Tuesday morning (about 1” possible) with mostly cloudy skies before clearing out in the late morning/early afternoon period. It will be a colder day than we’ve experienced in the last 5 days with highs at 8500’ around 20 above. Winds will be light out of the West 7-10mph.
Extended Forecast:
The rest of the week will be dominated by high-pressure with mostly clear and sunny days along with slowly rising temps. This high-pressure system will literally be blocking all storm systems up into Alaska or south to the Four Corners. KEEP doing your snow dances, and sacrifices to Ullr.
Powder Out –
