Any Snow is Good Snow

Summary

Only an inch overnight but we'll take it. High-pressure builds in starting today and looks to bring clear and sunny skies everyday into the weekend.

Update

Today:

At 7:30AM it’s 22 degrees in the Village and 14 degrees at the top of Andesite Mountain (8800’. Only 1 inch fell at the Village since the lifts closed yesterday with 3" new at the Lone Mountain Snotel at 8900'. We’ll take it. Observed skies are currently mostly cloudy. For today expect some morning snow flurries mixed in with the clouds before gradually clearing off later in the morning hours. Sunny spells will become more numerous during the afternoon hours. High temps (at 8500’) today will range from 20 to 23 degrees. Winds will be light to moderate out of the West at around 15mph with gusts up to 25mph.

Wednesday:

After a chilly start with a low around 5 above, expect a sunny and clear Wednesday with highs of 25-27 at 8500’. North winds will be light in the morning switching over to NW in the afternoon with gusts up to 20mph.  

Extended Forecast:

The rest of the week will be dominated by high-pressure with mostly clear and sunny days along with slowly rising temps. This high-pressure system will literally be blocking all storm systems up into Alaska or south to the Four Corners. We’re talking nothing until at least the middle of next week! I’ll keep you posted on any developments here.
