Sunny TGIF

Summary

No surprise as sunny skies with light NW winds along with “tropical” December temps in the upper 30’s to low 40’s will grace Lone and Andesite mountains today.

Update

Today:

Currently at 7:30AM it’s 12 degrees in the Village and a toasty 30 degrees at the top of Andesite Mountain (8800’) – there’s your inversion. Skies are currently clear.

Sunny skies with light NW winds along with warm, almost tropical upper mountain high temps in the upper 30’s to low 40’s. With the air inversion in place, the base areas stay cooler than the upper mountain. Expect the base areas (Village, etc.) to stay cool in the low 20’s until about noon when the inversion breaks and temps rise abruptly into the upper 30’s and low 40’s by 3pm.

Extended Forecast:

Saturday and Sunday will continue the streak of sunny and warm days. Daytime high temps at 8500’ will be advancing into the 40’s once again. Ditto this forecast through Wednesday of next week. A much anticipated (to say the least) pattern shift to more of snowy one is still modeled to arrive Thursday of next week. Still too far out for details, stay tuned.
