Blue Skies Return – Briefly
Summary
Wednesday looks to be a pleasant day across Big Sky with sunny skies and warming daytime temperatures. SW winds this afternoon will be blowing across the ridgetops and wind exposed areas gusting 25 to 30 mph. A cold front marches through Thursday triggering snow showers, some heavy with 1 to 3 inches. Friday, sunny skies return before yet another cold front brings snow showers for Saturday.

Today:
At 7:00AM it’s 21 degrees in the Village and 22 degrees at the 8800’ level of Andesite Mountain. No new snow fell in the last 24-hours. Currently the skies are clear over Lone and Andesite mountains. Current winds at the top of Andesite are blowing from the South at 2 mph with a recent gust to 4 mph.
Today, sunny skies, a bluebird day with a breeze. High temperatures across the upper mountain locations (at 9000’) will be around 38 this afternoon. Winds will be blowing from the SW around 10 - 18 mph with gusts to 25 mph across the ridgetops with possibly higher gusts this afternoon.
Extended Forecast:
Another cold front moves through Thursday late-morning/afternoon bringing snow showers that could become heavy during the mid-afternoon with chances of 1 to 3 inches. Temps will also be falling during the day with an afternoon high of 22 degrees at 9000’. Friday, mostly sunny again before another Pacific cold front brings clouds and snow showers Saturday afternoon. For Sunday, a mix of clouds, flurries, a few sunny breaks but colder.
