Healthy Refresh

Summary

Multiple storms will deliver healthy totals to many areas in the Intermountain West for the week of January 27th. Chase to Alta/Snowbird and Jackson Hole for the deepest totals, along with A-Basin and Aspen Snowmass in Colorado, and Revelstoke in British Columbia.

Short Term Forecast

We'll get started with the deepest reports from the Collective Resorts from Thursday, January 23rd through the morning of Monday, January 27th.

Deepest 5-Day Totals

Snowbird: 27"

Alta: 24"

Jackson Hole: 17"

A-Basin: 11"

Squaw Valley: 9"

Forecast

The fun is already underway for the week of January 27th as Alta/Snowbird received a healthy refresh, along with Jackson Hole in Wyoming.

After a slight break on Monday afternoon and evening, we'll turn to Tuesday and into Wednesday for the deep to continue with another round of heavy snow. Target first chair Wednesday at Alta/Snowbird or Jackson Hole.

Looking elsewhere, most locations outside of Canada will be in for a lighter totals. Arapahoe Basin, Big Sky, and the Aspen Snowmass resorts will be good wildcard picks for Tuesday and/or Thursday morning.

Further north in Canada, Revelstoke, Banff Sunshine, and Lake Louise will all be in for healthy totals, especially as we look ahead to Friday, January 31st and into Saturday, February 1st. Great choices all around!

Extended Forecast

Looking further ahead, a stormy pattern is developing for the Western US as we turn the calendar into February. It's still early but start planning now if you're looking to ride the powder wave during the first half of February.

Thanks for reading and look for my next update on Monday, February 3rd.
