Forecast

Many locations have been catching their breath over the past week following the parade of storms during the first two weeks of January. Squaw Alpine received upwards of 2 FEET on Thursday, January 16th, while many other locations received decent refreshes on Friday, January 17th.

For the week ahead, it will be a similar story as multiple waves of energy slide through western Canada and the Intermountain West.

Starting on Monday, Revelstoke will be in the flow with 1-2 FEET through Sunday, January 26th. Keep an eye on Wednesday and Thursday for great turns but in general, you really can't go wrong with any day. Banff Sunshine and Lake Louise will also receive light totals all week with temperatures in the teens to low 20s (degrees Fahrenheit).

Further south, Jackson Hole will be in for multiple days of continuous snowfall beginning on Tuesday, with the heavier snow targeting the Tetons on Wednesday and possibly into Thursday.

Alta/Snowbird, Arapahoe Basin, Aspen Snowmass, and Taos will also join the fun from Tuesday through Thursday. Expect light totals at Taos on Tuesday, followed by light to moderate totals at Alta/Snowbird and A-Basin on Wednesday and into Thursday.

Extended Forecast

Looking ahead to the weekend of January 25th and 26th, our full attention will shift to California as Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows receive another wave of heavy snow.

"The latest model runs show that we could see precipitation move in as early as Saturday afternoon. Expecting the bulk of the storm for Saturday night into Sunday. The models have also been trending a bit wetter for this storm." -Bryan Allegretto

We'll then be tracking another round of snow for the Intermountain West around Monday, January 27th and into Tuesday, January 28th. Stay tuned to our 1-10 day forecasts for all of the Mountain Collective destinations and our team of local forecasters for the latest updates.

Thanks for reading and look for my next update on Monday, January 27th.
