Mostly Mellow Through Next Week

Summary

There are no major storms in sight over the next week and more Spring weather is on the way. The models are hinting at a return to wintry weather toward the end of next week.

Short Term Forecast

The season is starting to wind down, with one resort, Antuco, closing this past weekend. Many resorts will stay open for a few more weeks, and there may be some additional chances for powder too.

We'll stay mainly dry across the Andes for the next week or more, with a few chances for light snow in the southern part of the central zone on Friday and Sunday. Accumulations should be minor, with decreasing totals to the north and no impacts at all in the northern zone.

Temperatures will be seasonal for the remainder of the week, with a warming trend starting this weekend into early next week. We'll be around freezing during the day initially, with Spring conditions starting this weekend.

Extended Forecast

As mentioned, the models are picking up on a stronger storm later next week. We could see several days of snow and cold temperatures and some solid pow days. Check the storm moving through on the upper level map below.

I'll keep an eye on that and have an update on Friday.
