US and Canada Daily Snow
By Joel Gratz, Founding Meteorologist Posted 5 years ago March 4, 2019
An incredible pattern as western storms continue!
Summary
Nature’s snow machine will keep pumping out the powder days through the week with heavy snow likely in California, Utah, and Colorado.
Short Term Forecast
Forecast for Monday to Friday (Mar 4 – Mar 8)
Since the calendar says March, some people start to think about the warmer weather of spring. But all of us powder skiers and riders know that winter is still here and more deep days are in our future.
We'll start this week with a powder day on Monday in Colorado and for mountains that are closest to the major cities along the east coast. Then the next storm will hit California with powder on Wednesday and Thursday and snow will continue east to Utah and Colorado. And yet another storm could hit southern Utah and all of Colorado on Friday into Saturday.
Forecast for The Weekend (Mar 9 – Mar 10)
It looks like the best chance for powder will be on Saturday in Colorado. To the west in California, there is a chance for snow on Sunday into Monday, though this is snow is less certain (hence my dashed line).
Extended Forecast
The Outlook for Next Week (Mar 11 – Mar 15)
The extended temperature outlook through mid-March signals that the cool and stormy pattern in the central western US should continue, so chances for additional storms in California, Utah, and Colorado look pretty good at the moment.
Thanks for reading and look for the next forecast on Thursday, March 7.
