Forecast for Wed (Feb 12) to Thu (Feb 13):
In the West, heavy snow will fall across the Sierra including Tahoe from Wednesday night through Thursday night, with snow also picking up across Utah, Colorado, and the Central/Southern Rockies. Ski resorts in Tahoe will likely be measuring this storm in feet.
In the East, snow from the most recent storm in the Mid-Atlantic will taper off on Wednesday morning, then the next storm will bring a variety of precipitation from Wednesday night to Thursday night. In the West, snow will continue across much of the West on Friday and into Saturday, and a new storm will drop into the Northwest on Saturday with snow picking up over BC and Washington.
In the East, yet another storm will arrive on Saturday with snow for New England and the Northern Mid-Atlantic, but a changeover to sleet and freezing rain is possible in many areas.

In the West, another weaker storm is possible early in this period with the Northwest and the Rockies expected to be favored. Late in this period, a ridge of high pressure will build over the West Coast which will lead to a drying trend for many areas, while storms could still reach BC along the northern periphery of the ridge.
In the East, an active pattern is likely to continue with a colder airmass also expected to take hold.

What are the main use cases for the forecast snowfall maps?
Get an easy-to-use visualization of the snow forecast for your favorite locations, check the timing of upcoming storms to catch the deepest turns or to avoid snowy road conditions, and see which ski resorts are favored for the deepest snow totals.
Are there any limitations to the forecast snowfall maps?
The forecast snowfall maps count "mixed precipitation" as "snow" so the maps could show more snow in areas that are getting sleet or freezing rain, along with where the rain/snow line is difficult to forecast. Double-check any location by tapping the map for the forecast details.
